Square Enix considers taking FFXIII mobile project to 4G sets

Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura came out of hiding recently for an interview with Japan's monthly Ge-maga magazine. The producer discussed Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PlayStation 3, but some of his biggest revelations concerned the little brother in the project, Final Fantasy Agito XIII for mobile.Agito XIII appears to be a long ways off. Nomura and crew believe that they can't do the game on current generation cell phones (that would be 3G in Japan, the same generation that runs Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII) and are considering doing it for next generation 4G sets. The only problem is, 4G sets haven't exactly been announced yet.For an early preview of Agito XIII, turn to none other than Nomura's other mobile pet project, Monotone. Nomura revealed that this project contains a few test elements from the Agito XIII project.Even though it may be a ways out, Agito XIII looks like it could be worth the wait. Nomura stated that Agito XIII is being developed with the idea of making a full-fledged numbered Final Fantasy game. Currently, development is at the point where the game's plot has been completed. It's a huge storyline, revealed Nomura.Unlike Before Crisis, which was distributed in parts over a long time frame, Agito XIII will be available in nearly full form from the beginning. That alone has us excited to get our hands on the final product. Let's hope we don't have to wait too long!
